Mexican coroner: Texas prosecutor killed himself

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) - Mexican authorities say a 26-year-old Texas prosecutor found dead south of the border committed suicide by consuming poison.

The prosecutors' office from the Mexican state of Tamaulipas said Tuesday that forensics officials were performing additional tests on tissue samples from Cameron County Assistant District Attorney Arturo Jose Iniguez.

Iniguez's boss, District Attorney Armando Villalobos, ruled out foul play on Monday. Villalobos said a separate autopsy will be performed in Cameron County.

The young prosecutor joined the Cameron County DA's office in 2007. Iniguez lived in the Brownsville suburb of Rancho Viejo with his wife and 2-year-old daughter.
