Amarillo, Texas - You'll have a chance to help wildfire victims and get rid of some of your unwanted items at the same time.
There are at least a dozen families whose houses burned to the ground, and have no way to pay to rebuild them.
In an effort to help put a roof over those family's heads, a large garage sale is going on Saturday in the parking lot at Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo.
The goal is to raise $20,000 by selling items people donate... First helping Mesilla Park victims, then using whatever money is leftover to help those in the Palisades.
Garage sale organizer Chad Conner says, "We got a couple of mobile homes donated. What we're going to do is we're going to move them out there, we're going to fix them up. By the time we're finished it will practically be like a new home. Beyond that, we found some FEMA trailers from Katrina."
The garage sale is from 9 to 5 Saturday... Donations are being accepted throughout the night and into Saturday afternoon.
