AMARILLO, TX - Many North Amarillo parents are still fearing for their children's safety in their neighborhood, nearly six months after raising their concerns to city officials.

Residents tell NewsChannel 10, Tuesday night, they witnessed a large crowd fight in front of the newly remodeled basketball court near hamlet elementary school.

According to parents, what they saw Tuesday night is an example of why they don't allow their children to play outside after certain hours.

"I want my kids to be able to play outside and not witness a fight and not be afraid to go to the park before it gets dark." said mother of five, Kim Triplett.

Even though Amarillo police responded to the Hamlet area last night, police do not have a report for the fight neighbors tell us they witnessed.
