Amarillo, TX - Amarillo police responded to a home in the 900 block of Dahlia this morning on reports that a man was threatening himself and others.

Police say the 911 operator was speaking to the caller when she heard a gun shot and the phone line went dead.

APD says the bomb squad was called out as a precautionary measure, in case the gunman turned violent towards others.

"Why do we need all this, just for our officers safety. Rather than sending a officer in where we knew there are firearms inside we held back and used the tools we have, we have these pieces of equipment, so take of advantage them." said Cpl. Jerry Neufeld

After a robot was sent into the home, the video showed the caller was deceased. At this time, officials believe the death to be a suicide.
