AMARILLO, TX - Your help is needed solving who killed a young Amarillo woman nearly 11 years ago.

According to Amarillo investigators, 24-year-old Shamika Scott was found dead inside her room at the Wagon Wheel Motel in June of 2000. Scott had been living at the East Amarillo Boulevard motel for quite some time before she was found murdered.

"Shamika was supposed to move home that Friday. I was supposed to pick her up at noon when I got off work. I kept calling and she didn't answer. I finally called the office and that's when the office manager told me the police were there, and they found her dead." said Joyce Ivory, Scott's mother.

Police believe the 24-year-old was smothered to death sometime between the night of the 8th and early the next morning.
