Fires in Hutchinson County are under control tonight, but they left the eastern half of the county without power, due to downed power lines knocked over in those high winds.

The 35-mile long wildfire started in the canyons near southeast Borger. Those flames forced evacuations in the Keeler heights neighborhood, the Spring Creek area and Texroy Camp.

Danny Richards with the Hutchinson County Emergency Management says that crews from three Counties and many other towns helped in the day long blaze. Crews will be out all night watching for hot spots. They will not know until Monday exactly how many acres burned.
