Amarillo, TX - The Potter County Fire Department says a grass fire started Tuesday afternoon, after a spark from a rail road track hit the dry grass near I-40 and the Highway 287 split.

The wind quickly spread the flames farther.

More than seventy acres were reportedly burned.

A barn suffered slight damage near the fire, but no other structures were hit by the blaze.

The Potter County Fire Department along with Amarillo's Fire Department and the Texas Forest Service had the fire contained within about fifty minutes.
