Bus passengers spending the night in an unheated terminal

Amarillo, Texas - A group of cross-country travelers are stuck in Amarillo with no heat and little comfort. It's been 24 hours since the two busloads of people arrived, for what was supposed to be a quick stop.

Passengers tell us the busses were running late and in that time, it began to snow and the remainder of their trip was suspended.

They say while the bus drivers went to a hotel, they were left in the terminal, where they are nothing short of uncomfortable. One passenger, Michael Byer says, "I slept on the bus last night and I got up sneezing and coughing. There are about three small infant children on that bus and their health is not doing too well at the moment either."

To make matters worse, Byer says there is no heat inside the terminal or on the buses where they are supposed to sleep. Customers have been able to eat at the small restaurant inside the terminal thanks to a meal voucher provided at two this morning.

But the passengers tell us they are left in the dark as to what will happen next. We spoke with a Greyhound representative who told us they will talk tomorrow to figure out if the buses can depart Amarillo.
