Statewide search continues for high-risk sex offender

Houston, Texas - A statewide search continues for a high-risk sex offender with ties to Amarillo. 39-year-old Timothy Rosales, Jr. escaped from the Reid Facility, a halfway house in Houston on Monday evening. He is now on the Texas Department of Public Safety "Top Ten Most Wanted" list. Police say he may be armed and dangerous.

Rosales is 5'7" and weighs about 165 pounds. He has multiple tattoos, including a rose tattoo on the inside of his left arm. He is said to have family in the Denton area, but his criminal history is in Amarillo.

Rosales was convicted of two aggravated sexual assaults in Potter County in 1987. According to Potter County court records, Rosales was just 16 at the time of his crimes, which took place in July of 1987. Records show the victims to be females age 34 and 32. He was sentenced to a 25 year prison term and released early on mandatory supervision in 2007.
