Latest search for Texas teen comes up short

ABILENE, Texas (AP) — The latest search for a missing 13-year-old West Texas middle school cheerleader has come up short.

Authorities searched an Abilene landfill with cadaver dogs Friday, but did not find her. Colorado City city manager Pete Kampfer said Saturday that the search had been completed and was unsuccessful.

Hailey Darlene Dunn was reported missing by her mother Dec. 28 in Colorado City, a 4,500-resident town about 240 miles west of Dallas.

Since then, law enforcement agencies and dozens of volunteers have been searching for her. Posters with her photo are plastered all over town, and orange ribbons are tied around trees and car antennaes.

Authorities say her mother's live-in boyfriend is among several "persons of interest" in the case. He says he's not responsible for her disappearance.
