Clovis, NM - A Clovis man is sentenced to two life sentences plus an additional five-and-a-half-years in a 2008 double shooting murder case.

In August 2008, Anthony Casillas was found guilty by a Curry County jury on two counts of the murders of 52-year-old Gary Payne and 36-year-old Melissa Ward.

Casillas was also charged with one count of tampering with evidence and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. The incident happened when Clovis police responded to a report of a van that crashed into a wall.
