The Colorado state senator involved in a fatal crash in Texas won't be appointed to head the Senate Transportation Committee.

State Senator Suzanne Williams served as Vice Chairwoman of the committee last year and was expected to head it this year.

Senate Majority Leader John Morse said Monday he removed Williams from consideration for the post because he's worried she won't be able to do a full-time job.

The accident is still under investigation, and a grand jury is expected to consider the case.
