Amarillo man killed in New Mexico crash

ROSWELL, N.M. — New Mexico State Police say a Texas man has been killed in a rollover accident in Roswell.

Police identified the victim Monday as 32-year-old Osvaldo Bellah, of Amarillo. They say his 30-year-old wife Patricia Bellah was treated at a hospital and released.

Investigators say Osvaldo Bellah was trying to pass a tractor-trailer on the city's Relief Route early Monday when he lost control of the vehicle and it overturned multiple times.

Police say Bellah was ejected and later pronounced dead at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center.

They say excessive speed, driver inattention/fatigue and the lack of seat belt use were contributing factors in the fatal rollover.
