2011 Brings More for Amarillo

AMARILLO, TX - City leaders are excited about what the new year will bring to Amarillo.

The new terminal slated to open up at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport this spring is expected to be a major improvement for the city.

It's your first impression if you are a visitor flying into town. The first impression is the airport and our new terminal and its just going to be a wonderful way to come into town." said Eric Miller with the Convention and Visitor Council.

Area institutions like, Wonderland Park and The Big Texan will also celebrate milestone anniversaries.

Tourist officials are also looking forward to the Route 66 International Festival to roll through town this summer.

Officials expect thousands of Route 66 enthusiasts from all over the world to flock to Amarillo spending time and money boosting our local economy.
