Amarillo, Texas - Residents are evacuated from their assisted living facility in Amarillo Sunday after sprinkler systems go off all over the building.

The fire department was called just before three in the afternoon to the Independence Village Complex on Virginia.

Resident Thomas Hernandez says, "the alarms went off and its usually a false alarm I saw my dinning room area were we eat lunch in the afternoon was getting flooded and I went up on the second floor to check, cause it smelled like electrical smoke and I saw the sprinkler system went off on the second floor that's when I called 911."

We spoke with residents today who say the dining hall is flooded, and will most likely have major water damage.

No word yet on what caused the sprinklers to go off... Early assumptions by residents point towards a frozen water pipe.
