Oldham County - Crews worked for a few hours Monday afternoon to contain a massive range fire in Oldham County.

The fire started after a tire came off a truck axle and sparked the grass eastbound near mile marker 42 on Interstate 40. The fire spread quickly as it was fed by winds traveling up to 15 miles per hour.

Officials tell NewsChannel 10  that around 930 acres were scorched.

Over twenty trucks from Oldham County, Potter County, Hereford, and the Vega Fire Departments worked the fire.

No injuries have been reported and surrounding homes remained untouched.
