Amarillo, TX--The Texas Health and Human Services office has moved to a larger location to better serve Amarillo.

The office which is in charge of processing applications for several Medicaid programs and SNAP food benefits, has been moved to 28 Western Plaza Drive.

In the past year there has been a 15-percent increase in the number of people receiving Medicaid benefits in Potter County, and a 16-percent increase for SNAP food benefits.

"We'll be better able to serve them in this larger office space we have. We had outgrown our other space, we were facing challenges with crowded lobbies and inadequate office space for the clients and the staffs needs," said Mary Doan the Regional Director for HHSC.

The Amarillo office currently serves around 30,000 clients.
