AMARILLO, TX - An alleged inappropriate conversation with a child leads to the arrest of an area youth volleyball coach.

52-year-old Timothy Alan Stahl was arrested at his home Thursday.  He is charged with online solicitation of a minor.

Investigators tell NewsChannel 10, Stahl had a sexually explicit conversation over the internet with a young girl earlier this month. In that alleged conversation, Stahl described fondling the girl. An adult then came across the transcript.

Police urge parents to monitor closely their children's Internet activity.

"Its very important for parents to be aware of the type of conversations occurring if a child has access to the Internet. It's important to supervise them because you just don't know exactly what's going on unless you are in direct contact with a child and with a conversation." said Sgt. Brent Barbee with the Amarillo Police Department.

According to investigators, Stahl and the alleged victim did know each other prior to the Internet conversation. However, police will not elaborate how the two knew each other.

Prior to this arrest, Stahl did not have any criminal history in local counties.
