CLOVIS, NM - New details are coming in about a fatal November car crash involving a Clovis police officer. Those include internal allegations the officer broke multiple laws leading up to the crash.
Newly obtained court documents contain an internal police report on the crash. That investigation claims the officer was going more than 20 miles above the speed limit, failed to stop at a stop sign and quote - "was not giving his full attention to the roadway."
The report says he was distracted by Christmas lights on a nearby house.
