AMARILLO, TX - Police are investigating an early Wednesday homicide in the 1400 block of Studebaker.
Investigators tells NewsChannel 10, 32 year-old Deidre Denise Black was found dead in a home just before 6 a.m. It is believed, Black may have stopped breathing following a domestic violence situation.
A suspect, 27 year old Bobby Leroy Phea was arrested for aggravated assault with serious bodily injury. Those charges could change pending the outcome a Potter County Grand Jury hearing.
Preliminary autopsy results show Black died from stress of the assault that aggravated a pre-existing heart condition.
According to investigators, Phea was Black's boyfriend. Neither Phea or Black have an extensive criminal history with the Amarrillo Police Department. No domestic violence report between the two had ever been filed.
