New Mexico Health Report

New Mexico - The newly released New Mexico health report has some interesting findings about workplace health.

Asthma is a major concern. The report found nearly two thirds of New Mexicans with asthma say they had quit to a job because of chemicals, smoke, fumes, or dust that made their asthma worse.

Also, New Mexico has also had consistently higher rates of work-related injury fatalities than on the national level.

Health officials say this trend is due to New Mexico being home to several high-hazard industries. Those include transportation, mining, agriculture, and construction.
