AMARILLO, TX - The Special Crimes Unit says they are investigating dozens of unsolved Amarillo murders that span over the last five decades. One of those families, shared their story with NewsChannel 10, three years after their loss.
April Booker tells NewsChannel 10, since she heard the news her older sister, Crystal Dawn Booker, was found dead in a field, she's been sick and suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
"Its hard to sit here and look at my sisters picture and see she's gone...because she didn't deserve it." said April Booker.
Investigators tell NewsChannel 10, Booker was found one January 2008 morning, off of I-40 East, between Buckles Lounge and Budget Inn. The 21-year-old had been stabbed to death.
According to the Booker family, they call detectives a few times a week to see if there any leads.
"They just tell us they interviewed this person or that person." said Beverly Booker, Crystal's mother.
However, investigators say those interviews have not led them to any specific person. Special Crimes is currently searching for more witnesses. Investigators urge anyone who knows who murdered the Amarillo young woman to give them a call at (806) 378-9468.
The family begs the same.
"It would be complete. It would be solved. She could rest and we could also rest." said Beverly Booker.
