Salvation Army Thanksgiving

Amarillo, TX - Many homeless shelters in Amarillo will be closed over Thanksgiving weekend, but the Salvation Army will keep its doors open.

With a cold front moving through the area and so many other shelters closed, the Salvation Army's regular areas are nearly full.

However, they say they can open up more space, which would allow them to support up to about 12 hundred people.

The Salvation Army fed over one thousand people during lunch and dinner on Thanksgiving Day.
