Amarillo, TX--Helping ranching families in need is just one of the missions of the Working Ranch Cowboys Association.

From ridin' wild horse's to branding steers, The World Championship Ranch Rodeo is more than what you see. They are helping their own.

The crises fund and foundation have distributed more than $275,000 to working ranch families children this year who want to attend college or if the family needs help with medical expenses. Its something that is close to the associations heart.

"If you win one of our scholarships you keep your grades up and you send in your reports , you will get that check every semester until you finish your college career"says WRCA President Randy Whipple.

Over the weekend the event raised more than $100,000 for the foundation.

"It has just been an awesome week this will impact our year and the foundation as well we are going to pass it down to those ranching families stay in the saddle and help keep raising that beef we all love to eat," said Whipple.

Currently 34 ranch kids from Texas to Colorado to South Dakota are receiving scholarship money.
