Home Invasion Sends Man to Hospital

AMARILLO, TEXAS - An Amarillo man is recovering after police say he was hit on the head with a gun during a home invasion robbery Thursday night.

It happened in the 2000 block of Orange street. Police say around 9:20 last night two men knocked on the back door of the house. When the 55-year-old victim answered, the two men forced their way inside. Police say the men then fired a shot inside the house before making off with an undisclosed amount of money and goods.

"Right now the detectives have just got all avenues open. they haven't made any decisions," Amarillo Police Officer Brent Barbee said.

Police say that 55-year-old man was taken to the hospital. but we're told his injuries were not life threatening. This is still an on-going investigation and officers would like your help. If you know anything please call Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
