ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Fans who went online seeking information on the fate of Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips after a 1-7 start had to look elsewhere.
The Dallas Morning News reported Tuesday that the team apparently failed to renew its registration of the dallascowboys.com domain name and the site was replaced Sunday night with a generic page for Network Solutions LLC.
For a time Monday, a day when Phillips was fired by team owner Jerry Jones, the website had a stock image of two children playing soccer until the renewal was completed.
Dallascowboys.com was back to normal Tuesday.
Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple had no information about the website registration.
Dalrymple says he just knows that the website "goes down every now and then, they usually get it right back up again."
