AMARILLO---Nearly a million dollars of federal funding will go towards helping more out of work Texans land jobs.

The U.S. Department of Labor tells NewsChannel 10,  Texas is one of eleven states to receive grant money to build and expand a new workforce database.

The database is expected to enhance the hiring process by pin-pointing what areas in employment training the state's workforce commission should focus on. Texas will receive the funds over the next three years.
