Update: One Muleshoe Murder Heads To Trial; Another Doesn't

Amarillo, TX - Two men who are suspects in the killing of a 19 year old Muleshoe man are charged with murder today.

On Wednesday, a Bailey County District Attorney charged 2 men with the murder of Rolonda Sauceda.

Both Daniel Mendoza, 20,  and Michael Garcia, 25, are were taken into custody nearly a week after the shooting.

On July Fourth, officers responded to the 500 Block of West Avenue B on a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found Sauceda laying in the yard with one gunshot wound to the torso.

Neighbors told investigators there were at least 20 shots fired in the two block chase there. Sauceda died while on the way to the hospital.

While 1 Muleshoe murder caseheads to trial, another will not be heard in court. Armando Gamez, 22,  was accused of killing Benny Martinez, 42, of Muleshoe in early August.

On Monday, a Bailey County grand jury heard testimony about the August 13th homicide. Today they decided, Gamez will not go to trial because lack of evidence.

The District Attorney said it was no billed in defense of a third person.
