Amarillo, TX - Several men and woman of the Panhandle who served our country will be heading off on a trip of a lifetime tomorrow. Nearly 140 veterans and volunteers from our area will be heading to Washington DC, Thursday morning.

The veterans will visit The Memorial and be honored for their courage and sacrifices during World War II and The Korean War. In order to go, the veterans had to apply and be accepted several months ago.

"For what they did for us, in my mind its our duty to do this trip really it's the least we can do for what they've done for us," America Supports You, Jack Barnes said, "We can never thank them enough for what've they've done for their service and sacrifice to our country."

The Amarillo based 'America Supports You' raised more than $400,000.00 dollars for this trip to be possible. If you would like to be a part of the send off, the flights take off bright and early Thursday morning at 6:15 PM at The Rick Husband Airport.
