PORTALES, NMA - A 13-year-old faces murder charges in the July 22nd shooting death of 22-year-old Angel Vale.

Investigators tell NewsChannel 10,  the boy shot Vale just outside her home on North Avenue A. He is charged with murder as juvenile, aggravated burglary and tampering with evidence.

The teenager had been in the Curry County Juvenile Detention Center for the past several weeks and facing charges of burglary. Monday, investigators received crime lab results of a .22 caliber rifle in which they believe are enough to prove the boy did murder the Eastern New Mexico University junior.

Vale and her fiance were actually in the process of moving out of their rented home because she felt unsafe. The day before they were supposed to , she was gunned down.

Vale was studying criminal justice at ENMU. Friends tell NewsChannel 10, she wanted to work with kids in trouble after graduation.
