Firefighters Run Cross-Country for 9/11

AMARILLO, TEXAS Three dozen fire-fighters are running from coast-to-coast to remember 9/11.

NewsChannel 10 caught up with the guys just on the border between New Mexico and Texas.

The group kicked-off the trip on August 12 in California. Running seven-and-a-half minute miles, they hope to reach Ground Zero on the morning of September 11.

The run took two years to organize. It was the brainchild of an Australian fire fighter, and most on the trip are from down-under. The group's using the run to raise cash for charities related to 9/11.

If you're interested in helping, you can check the link to this story. On there you'll also see a real time GPS tracker of where the guys are - including an expected stop in Amarillo Friday.
