Two Men Arrested For Copper Theft

Amarillo, Texas - Two men suspected of stealing over $20,000 in copper wire remain behind bars.

The Potter County Sheriff's Office says 42 year old Wendell Ledford and 33 year old Jeremy Mills were arrested early Thursday morning.

Deputies tell us a witness spotted the men near the Xcel Energy plant northeast of Amarillo and called authorities.

Sheriff's deputies responded and followed the men into Carson County and arrested them near County Road B.
They were both booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Theft, a 3rd-degree felony.
