Clint Formby Dies

Amarillo, TX--He hosted 16 thousand episodes of his program without missing a single one.

Now, that celebrated Panhandle broadcaster has died.

Clint Formby died Saturday after battling cancer.

He owned radio station KPAN in Hereford.

He started broadcasting daily commentary in 1955 as the "day by day philosopher."

Formby was featured on the "Today Show" in 2007, for hosting 16,000 consecutive radio shows.

According to KPAN's web site, Formby's program was the longest running consecutive radio broadcast by anyone in the country.

Clint Formby was 86 years-old.
