Canyon, Texas - Potentially dangerous stadium lights in Canyon are raising big concerns. NewsChannel 10's Kristen Guilfoos has more on the light pole recall and what it all means.

We're talking about stadium light poles that are taller than 70 feet and weight between one and four tons. They're made by a company called Whitco, and so far 11 of them have collapsed in five different states.

This prompted the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall all of these poles... Ten of which light up the baseball complex in Canyon's Southeast Park.

The park's Foreman, Thomas Allen, says, "I emailed them and said yeah look we're affected by this. What are the steps we need to take to make sure that we're gonna keep everybody safe and that nothing is gonna happen. So we're waiting to hear back from them and we are gonna hire an engineer to come out and make sure this pole is okay and sound."

If the poles don't make the cut, the city says they'll replace them, so a collapse doesn't happen in Canyon, potentially injuring or even killing players or spectators.

One of those ten poles is of particular concern because it lacks the underground foundation the other nine have.
