AMARILLO, TEXAS - Just-released surveillance photos of a pair of burglars paint a much clearer picture of who made off with dozens of handguns in back to back burglaries.

Almost 30 handguns were stolen from Gander Mountain early Sunday morning and early Monday morning.

Authorities say it is imperative these criminals are caught immediately, before the weapons fall into even worse hands.

When most people in our area were setting off fireworks, these suspects were setting off security alarms.

Potter County Sheriff Brian Thomas says, "July 4th, everybody's busy so it took us a little bit to get there. By the time we had gotten there we found the back door was open and someone had gone in and broken into the gun display cases."

The very next night, a repeat performance, with more guns stolen...bringing the total to 27.

Authorities believe this was no random burglary. In fact, the believe the suspects studied the aisles, which is why they were able to bust through the back door and get away within minutes.

Sheriff Thomas says, "when you have weapons taken, the potential of getting them back on the street....who knows where they're at. It's very concerning to us."

Which is why they released these surveillance pictures to show the public.

Both suspects wore dark colored gloves and red bandanas over their faces.  One of them may have a tattoo on his right arm.

The sheriff believes the same person committed both crimes, but with an accomplice the second night.

Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone whose tip leads to an arrest and conviction of the suspects.

You can help the investigation by calling or texting Crime Stoppers at 374-4400 or at CRIMES with any information on the suspects.
