N. Taylor St. Shooting Update

Amarillo, TX - Two suspects are in custody after police believe they were involved in the shooting that occurred last night on N. Taylor St.

When officials arrived they located Krishinda Gonzalez, 28, who had been shot in the torso 3 times. Witnesses reported that Gonzalez fell near the curb line of North Taylor, and it was reported she was fired at several times when she fell down. She was able to get up and go inside her neighbors home where police were able to find her. The suspect fled the scene in a red car that was driven by another suspect. Gonzalez remains in the hospital with serious injuries and is expected to fully recover.

Thomas Johnson, 38, was interviewed and was later booked into the Potter County Correction Center on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Officers located Johnson at The Sundown Motel where they found a semi-automatic handgun officials believe may be the weapon used in this case.

David Wickerson, 35, the victims husband was also arrested on charges of Tampering with Evidence. It is believed that 6 to 10 shots were fired during this incident. The incident is still currently being investigated and further charges could be forth coming. Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt.
