Amarillo, TX - Parents wanting to save money by giving free drug samples to their children could end up costing them. Jaime Doyle who has 2 year old daughter and one on the way says she uses free samples all the time, "Well I thought they were safe so I figured if my pediatrician was going to prescribe that to my daughter anyway then I might as well take advantage of the fact that they are free." Saving money is always a plus but parents should pay close attention to the dose in the free sample.
If a pediatrician tells a parent how much and when the child should take it, the bottle could leave out some important information according to local pediatrician MegAnne Walsh. Dr.Walsh said, "I write it down for the parents just to make sure there is no miscommunication."
If you are unsure about the proper amount of medicine to give you can always call your pediatrician or doctor.
