AMARILLO, TEXAS - This accident was already a tragedy, but we're learning new details about the pipeline itself and how yesterday could have been much worse.
Industry insiders say if the blast had to happen, it's lucky it hit at this point in the pipeline. This line feeds into a natural gas processing plant at the edge of Texas and Oklahoma. As that pipe travels it gets larger and increases pressure at different places along the way.
Near Darrouzett the pipe was relatively small and low pressure. That's the opposite of this explosion down state in Cleburne. That blast killed one worker there on Monday.
