Amarillo, TX - An Amarillo woman is in the hospital after reportedly being attacked by several large dogs. Police responded to NW 17th and Bonham at around 10:00 last night to reports of several dogs attacking a woman. When police arrived on scene they said that the owner of the dogs had them secured but there was no victim in sight.

One of the officers reportedly noticed blood on one of the dogs. The police then followed a trail of blood 1 block over where they found the injured woman. They found a 47-year-old woman who had injuries on her neck, legs, and arms.

The boyfriend of the victim Horace Green said, "Those are killer dogs and they need to be off the streets." Green also said is girlfriend is in the hospital recovering.

Mike McGee, the director of Animal Control, said "If the police department decides criminal charges then we will also purse a dangerous dog petition against the 3 pit bulls and they will probably be destroyed by weeks end."

Police told NewsChannel 10, the owner of the dogs may face a Class-C misdemeanor of $500.00 and the dogs that were involved in the attack will be in the pound until this case is closed.
