Amarillo, TX - Some local colleges are spending millions on construction and students are questioning if it will cost them and when it will be done. West Texas A&M and Amarillo College combined spent over 100 million on construction this year and the projects just seem to keep adding up.

Currently WT is building a new dorm room, sports complex, intramural center and a parking lot and that's just four out of the 19 projects they have set for this summer. Danny Smith, Associate of Physical Facilities says some of the construction is just upgrading and they are planning it being finished for the fall semester.

Amarillo College is spending 16 million on their 8 projects and the renovation of Warren Hall and Jones Hall on the West Campus are expected to be finished by this fall. Tuition for AC is increasing to $4.00 per credit hour however school officials say it isn't because of construction and WT's increasing by $4.50 an hour and students voted on that last fall.
