AMARILLO, TEXAS - A massive uproar over the complicated security settings on Facebook has sparked changes on the social networking site.

We have always been able to alter our settings on Facebook, but now, it is supposed to be a lot easier.

The settings page may look different today.

Dr. Nicholas Gerlich, a marketing professor at WTAMU, says, "you go to account, privacy settings, this is the new page on everyone's site, you can pick who sees what. You can choose everyone, friends, friends of friends, or custom to make your own mix of privacy settings."

Your privacy settings will apply to new features Facebook rolls out.

Also, Facebook has reduced the amount of personal information you have to show to use the site.

The last change is Facebook now gives you the option to turn off applications so third parties cannot get your information.

Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckergberg says, "these changes are a direct result of the feedback we've received on our recent product launches."

That feedback was not good.

Millions of users were outraged when they found out their information was accessible by third parties and that they could not figure out how to control their security.

Every user will have access to the new security changes in the coming days.
