Amarillo, TX - It doesn't matter what age you are or how tall you may be, local police say you will pay the price if you don't follow the new laws.

The National Click It or Ticket Campaign kicked off this morning and this years message is different than any year before because starting May 24th and  police in our area will pull anyone over for not wearing their seat belt - and with the 2 new laws in place they have no problem forgetting a warning and just giving a ticket.

Officers told NewsChannel 10 they may have up to 20 more motorcycle officers from now until June 6 - and they are paying very close attention to front and back seats.

TxDOT Traffic Safety Director, Terry Pence said, "The easiest things that you can do to protect yourself is to buckle it and it only takes couple seconds make sure before you start that car they buckle up and that everyone is safe."

An inflatable Big Tex was put along I-40 this morning to remind drivers that police are looking to see if they are wearing their seat belts.
