Amarillo, Texas - A man sets himself on fire inside an Amarillo gas station on Thursday afternoon.

NewsChannel 10's Kristen Guilfoos has more on the bizarre incident.Witnesses say it's like nothing they've ever seen before.

It all started near the pumps at the Chevron station near I-40 and Coulter, where a man poured gas all over himself from a gas can.

He then ran inside the store, stood in front of the counter, pulled out a lighter and set his pants on fire. The clerk said she stood there in shock... Totally taken aback at what was happening.

The man stops, drops and rolls as the store manager pushes him out the door so the entire place doesn't go up in flames.

Next he takes off his pants, pours more gas to set himself on fire again... But realizes he left his lighter inside the store.

Witnesses say he finds another lighter somewhere and proceeds to set himself on fire again... This time wearing only underwear.

Another man rushes out of the store... And punches him in the face to try and help get him under control. That's when police arrived and took him into custody.

He's currently at the hospital being treated for minor injuries.

Police say he won't face any charges... His case will be treated as a medical one, not criminal.
