After school Programs Face Cuts

AMARILLO, TEXAS - Some educators call it a "bitter disappointment."

Despite promising to double funding for after school programs, President Obama's newest budget actually cuts support. That's being felt right here by area kids.

Some programs are struggling to stay alive, and many others are being forced to cut the number of children served.

This also leaves many programs like the maverick's club asking the community for support to stay alive. Something that might be tough in a time when people are thinking twice about charitable donations.
