Home Sales Surge

AMARILLO, TEXAS - Sales are surging significantly in Amarillo's real estate market according to several agents. In the last two days - 35 properties have gone under contract in the city, that's about 25 percent higher than normal for this time of year according to one agent.

But others say, business will continue to pick up through the rest of the week. Many agents are showing houses from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. -- and they still can't fit every client in.

It's all so people can meet the Friday deadline to get those national tax credits. First time home buyers who are under contract by midnight on the 30th can receive $8,000. Repeat buyers can earn $6,500.
