Amarillo, TX - A Lubbock man will spend the rest of his life in prison after he opened-fire in an Amarillo bar, killing one and sexually assaulting another.

Thomas Reeve was an Englishman who stopped at the Spotted Pony while traveling through Amarillo, because the song "Is this the way to Amarillo" was one of his favorites.

While Reeve was at the Spotted Pony, 26-year-old Ray Carlos Cisneros, walked in and fired several shots, one them hitting Reeve and killing him.

Today, in Potter County, Cisneros pleaded guilty to one count of murder while committing a felony and two counts of aggravated robbery.

He'll spend 30 years behind bars for each crime.

Sims says he chose not to move forward with capital murder charges because to win a case like that, you have to be able to prove intent. The bullet that killed Reeve bounced off a table first, so it wasn't a clear cut case.

We're told that to save time and money, everyone agreed the best thing to do was to plead guilty to lesser charges.
