Borger murder suspect captured

The prime suspect in the murder of a Borger woman is captured following a manhunt in Hutchinson county Wednesday evening. 

Borger police tell us they captured 34 year old Isreal Rodas, also known as "Jose" Rodas, around 6:30 Wednesday evening.

Multiple agencies were on hand to assist with the search including the DPS helicopter. They captured him after he was spotted near the "Electric City" area north of Borger.

"Shortly after 6 pm, the helicopter was flying above about the time they were above the creekbed two Texas Department of Public Safety troopers located the suspect lying in the creekbed," said Lt. Anthony Griffin, Borger Police Dept

Rodas was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Hutchinson County Jail.

He is accused of stabbing 36 year old Gloria Arias-Cardenas to death at her Borger apartment this past weekend.
