Amarillo, TX - Amarillo Goodwill will officially re-open in June. June 17th is when the store is set to officially open it's doors. But goodwill representatives say they've already received a warm welcome two months prior. Even before the old Miller Paper Company building opens as Goodwill Amarillo, it will be making a difference in the community.

"That's what we're going to be able to provide is initially employment for those folks who don't have a chance to earn a paycheck," says Anna Braye of Goodwill Industries in Lubbock.

In-fact over the next few weeks, Goodwill is looking to hire 30 new employees to sort donations that will be sold when the store opens. "Those dollars translate directly in to helping the community with the free classes that we offer. We'll have job placement so we're thrilled to be a part of this community, says Director of Sales Sandra Perez says.

The racks are empty right now but soon they will be filled with donations. Donations that have been coming in steadily over the last week.

"Today we've probably received 10 or 15 so it's been great, Perez says"

The free courses offered will focus specifically on a need in our community. Braye says, "We have a basic computer class and then we have a more advanced computer class that teaches people how to be successful in a front office atmosphere. Because that seems to be a major employer here is administrative support."

Giving those in the need the chance to get those jobs.
