Amarillo, Texas - They're asking for your trust... And recognizing the Republican party may have let you down in the past.

As we first told you on Monday, several local legislators are among the founding fathers of the Independent Conservative Republicans of Texas.

So far, just over 60 Texas GOP lawmakers have signed on to be a part of the group... Including Senator Kel Seliger, along with Representatives John Smithee and Warren Chisum.

They say they're banding together because it's high time someone put party lines aside, and focused on the people of Texas.

Their mission is to defend the values and principles on which the nation was founded... And they're going to do that by getting back to a government that works for the people, not controls them.

Rep. Smithee says, "try to reduce the size of government, reduce the line on government spending. Hold the line on taxes and cut taxes whenever possible, to reduce government control over peoples everyday lives, and to promote overall positive values."

Mike Huckabee spoke about the group on his radio show this morning... Saying the movement is starting in Texas but he expects it to spread rapidly across the entire nation.
