Troopers seize 39 pounds of marijuana

39 pounds of marijuana is off the street in Potter County after another drug bust along I-40.

DPS troopers stopped a SUV for a traffic violation three miles west of Amarillo.

The driver, Jesus Contreras of Fort Wayne, Indiana and passenger Jose Maya-Sandoval were traveling from Phoenix to Fort Wayne.

During the stop Maya-Sandoval said troopers could search the SUV.

Police found the marijuana valued at more than 12,000 dollars.

They booked both the driver and passenger into the Potter County Jail for possession of marijuana.
